Box Score EUGENE, Ore. - Northwest Christian used an early scoring run to take command on the way to a 90-77 Cascade Collegiate Conference men's basketball victory Saturday night inside Morse Event Center.
The Beacons (16-7 overall, 8-5 CCC), who are receiving votes in the NAIA Division II national poll, trailed 6-3 in the opening minutes before ripping off 11 unanswered points, including three straight three-point baskets, to turn the momentum.
Trailing 47-31 at the half, Evergreen (5-16, 1-12) cut its deficit to 10 points at 59-49 before NCU responded with 10 consecutive points to put the game away with nine minutes remaining. The Geoducks, who suffered their 11th road loss without a win, got a career-high 20 points from
Malik Redmond, followed by 16 points and nine rebounds from
Ryan Quigley, 11 points from
Mana Niu and 10 points from
Jared Roffler.
The Geoducks shot 42 percent from the floor and won the rebounding battle, 44-37.
Reece Robinson scored 20 points to lead Northwest Christian, which shot 48 percent overall while hitting 15 three-point shots.Â
Next up for Evergreen is the first of a three-game home stand, that against Top-5 ranked College of Idaho at 7:30 p.m. inside Costantino Recreation Center.
