The Evergreen State College women's soccer team will head to Montana this week to open Cascade Collegiate Conference play. The Geoducks will face Carroll College on Friday, Sept. 20th at 2 p.m. MST and see Providence at 1 p.m. MST on Saturday, Sept. 21.
About Evergreen: The Geoducks are 2-2 overall so far this season. Evergreen opened the season defeated Douglas College in double overtime 3-2. The Geoducks fell to Pacific Lutheran, defeated Minnesota Morris and fell to Pacific University. Evergreen is led by Maddie Lockwood, who has three goals on the season.
About Carroll College: The Fighting Saints are 3-1-1 overall and defeated Black Hills State last week 1-0. Carroll College hasn't lost since August and tied against Montana State Billings 0-0 on Sept. 12th. Makayla Welch leads the way for the Fighting Saints with five goals for the season. Goalkeeper Sydney Green was named CCC Red Lion Defensive Player of the Week for her performances last week.
History with Carroll: Evergreen is 0-5-1 overall against Carroll. The Geoducks fell at home last season 1-2 and fell in 2017 in Montana 0-2.
About Providence: Argo is 1-3 overall this season defeating Park University 10-0. Providence fell to Montana State Billings, Arizona Christian and Rocky Mountain College. Eme McLaughlin leads the way for the Argo with eight goals for the season. She had three against Arizona Christian and four against Park University. With her seven goals this past week, McLaughlin was named the CCC Red Lion Offensive Player of the Week.
History with Providence: Evergreen is 1-4-1 overall with Providence. The Geoducks defeated Providence 3-2 at home last season. The year before in Montana, Providence came out on top 2-1. Evergreen has never won in Montana.
