Rowan Hicks (So.) of The Evergreen State College competed in the men's mile run at the Riverfront Invitational and Multis during the final day of events on Saturday, Feb. 8. The meet was held indoors at The Podium.
Hicks earned a time of 4:31.36 on Saturday. He lowered his time by nearly five seconds from 4:36.08 at the Portland Indoor #1 on Jan. 26.Â
Other highlights at the Riverfront Invitational and Multis for the Geoducks were achieved on Thursday and Friday.
On Thursday,
Corona Parker (Sr.) registered a score of 2,929 in the women's indoor pentathlon while setting a personal record of 9.93 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles. She also cleared 1.58 meters (5' 2.25") in the high jump. On Friday,
Alauna Carstens (Jr.) won the women's 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:15.53 and Parker cleared 1.58 meters (5' 2.25") in the open high jump competition.
The Evergreen track and field teams will participate in the Portland Indoor #2 on Sunday, Feb. 9. The meet will be hosted by the University of Portland at the Chiles Center.
