OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Horacio Godinez (So.) from The Evergreen State College has been chosen as the Cascade Collegiate Conference McDonald's Men's Wrestler of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, on Monday, Feb. 16. Godinez received the award for his efforts as the Geoducks downed Linfield University 33-24 in a dual meet on Thursday, Feb. 12 at the Costantino Recreation Center.

Godinez, who is listed #25 in the NAIA men's wrestling rankings for the 141-pound weight class, pinned Max Vander Meide of Linfield at the 2:39 mark as Evergreen took on the Wildcats last week. With the win, Godinez improved to 30-3 on the season. He holds the Evergreen men's wrestling record for career wins at 54-10. Godinez owns a career record of 41-4 at 141 pounds.

Evergreen received votes in the final NAIA Men's Wrestling Top 25 Poll for 2025-26 and earned votes in the poll throughout the season. The Geoducks will return to action at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships on Friday, Feb. 20 and Saturday, Feb. 21 in Salem, Oregon. The CCC Championships will be held at the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center on the Corban University campus.
