Box Score Brock Otis scored 20 points to lead six players in double figures as The Evergreen State College defeated Northwest Indian College, 117-87, Friday night in non-conference men's basketball action at CRC Gymnasium.
The Geoducks (2-4) shot 57 percent overall and easily won the rebound battle, 47-27, against the visiting Eagles (0-13).
Otis scored his 20 points in 9-for-11 shooting from the field. Joining him in double figures were
Danny Powell with 17 points,
Donald Terry with 14,
Ryan Quigley and
Jonathan Jack-Nixon with 13 each and
Alix Hernandez with 11.
Quigley, a freshman post who played a game-high 27 minutes, led all players with 14 rebounds, including nine on the offensive end, and Powell added 11. For Powell it was his fourth double-double of the season, while Quigley recorded his first as a collegiate player.
The Geoducks dished out 27 assists on their 48 made field goals with both Jack-Nixon and Hernandez finishing with five apiece.
Northwest Indian's Kacy Green shot 7-for-9 from the field and 7-for-8 at the charity stripe to lead all players with 23 points. William Stensgar added 14 points and five assists for NWIC, which also got 13 points each from Mike Schjang and Austin Miller and 10 points from Sonny Sylvester.
The Eagles shot 46 percent overall and matched that percentage from three-point range, shooting 12-for-26 from beyond the arc.
Evergreen led from the outset, took a 63-33 advantage into the halftime break, and enjoyed its largest lead at 44 points about five minutes into the second half. Both teams scored 54 points in the second half.
The Geoducks return to action on Tuesday, Dec. 1, when they open Cascade Collegiate Conference action at Northwest University.
