Evergreen is Listed 11th in CCC Men's Soccer Preseason Poll

OLYMPIA, Wash. -- The Evergreen State College men's soccer team is ranked 11th in the 2025 Cascade Collegiate Conference Preseason Poll. At the top of the poll is Carroll College (Mont.), which received nine of 13 first place votes and 158 total points.

In 2024, Evergreen finished with a 3-9-1 record in the CCC. The Geoducks were 3-12-1 overall. Head Coach Steve Schmidt is in his fourth year leading the Evergreen squad.

The Geoducks will start the regular season on Saturday, August 23 at George Fox University. Game time in Newberg, Oregon, is set for 5 p.m. PDT. Evergreen will open CCC action on Friday, Sept. 19 at Southern Oregon University.

Carroll won the CCC championship in 2024 with an 11-1-1 record. The Saints reached the second round of the NAIA Men's Soccer Tournament.

In this year's preseason poll, Carroll was followed by Southern Oregon University in second place with one first place vote and 148 points. Eastern Oregon University was third with one first place vote and 141 points.

Warner Pacific University held fourth place in the poll with one first place vote and 128 points. College of Idaho received the remaining first place vote and was fifth at 126 points.

Rocky Mountain College (Mont.) was sixth with 104 points, Oregon Tech was seventh with 91 points, and Corban University was eighth at 68 points.

Northwest University was next in ninth place in the poll with 59 points. Bushnell University held 10th place with 56 points and Evergreen was 11th at 46 points. University of Providence (Mont.) was 12th in the poll with 40 points. Walla Walla University was 13th with 13 points.

Kolby Juarez (Jr., M) and Juan Mendez (Sr., M) are Evergreen's top returning scorers after they tied for second on the team in scoring with 11 points last season. Juarez earned four goals and three assists, while leading the team with 29 total shots and providing two game-winning goals. Mendez registered five goals and one assist to go with 15 totals shots and 10 shots on goal.
