OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Evergreen State College Geoducks will begin the 2025 men's soccer regular season on Saturday, Aug. 23 at George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon. Game time is set for 7 p.m. PDT at the Austin Sports Complex.
Head Coach
Steve Schmidt begins his fourth season as the leader of the Geoducks. He previously was an assistant men's soccer coach at Evergreen in 2017 and 2018.
Key players who are returning for the Geoducks this season include
Kolby Juarez (Jr., M) and
Alan Miranda (Sr., D). Juarez tied for second on the team in overall scoring in 2024 with four goals and three assists for 11 points. In his first two seasons at Evergreen, Juarez scored a total of nine goals and four assists for 22 points. Miranda missed the 2024 season, but played in 13 games in 2023 while making 11 starts.
This list of top new players includes
Nolan Geller (Jr., M) and
Anthony Diaz (Fr., F). Geller transferred to Evergreen after playing at Rogue Community College. He was chosen as an NWAC All-Star at Rogue in 2024. Geller previously attended North Medford High School in Medford, Oregon. Diaz competed at Kent Meridian High School in Washington before arriving at Evergreen.
After taking on the Bruins on Saturday, the Geoducks will play at the University of Puget Sound on Saturday, Aug. 30. Game time in Tacoma, Washington, is scheduled for 1 p.m. PDT.
Evergreen will host scrimmages against Peninsula College on Thursday, Sept. 4 at 12 p.m. PDT and against Columbia Basin College on Wednesday, Spt. 10 at 1 p.m. before opening Cascade Collegiate Conference play at Southern Oregon University on Friday, Sept. 19 at 2:30 p.m.
