OLYMPIA, Wash. -- The Evergreen State College women's track and field team moved up to #17 on the NAIA Women's Indoor Track and Field Rating Index released by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Feb. 3. Evergreen was ranked #21 a week ago. The rating index highlights the top 25 teams in the NAIA according to their performances this season.

Central Methodist University (Mo.) remained the #1 team in the NAIA women's indoor track and field index with 186.87 points. Doane University (Neb.) stayed in second place with 165.16 points, and Dordt University (Iowa) grabbed the #3 spot at 135.10 points. Marian College (Ind.) followed at #4 with 131.15 points. Milligan University (Tenn.) was ranked #5 rating with 131.06 points.

Evergreen is the only women's team from the Cascade Collegiate Conference in this week's national Top 25. The Geoducks are ranked #1 in the CCC and are #1 in the West Region.

Three Geoducks have qualified for the NAIA Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships. Izabelle Trefts (Sr.) and Madison Palek (So.) have qualified for the NAIA Championships in the indoor 3,000-meter race walk. Alauna Carstens (Jr.) has qualified for nationals in the indoor 3,000-meter run. The national meet will be held at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center in Gainesville, Florida, from March 5-7.

Trefts earned an NAIA "A" qualifying time of 13:33.27 and a first place finish in the 3,000-meter race walk at the Concordia University Polar Dog Invite in Seward, Nebraska, on Friday, Jan. 23. It was the second-fastest time in a NAIA race walking history. Palek also qualified for nationals during the race walk at Concordia. Trefts is the defending NAIA national champion in the indoor 3,000-meter race walk.

Carstens registered an NAIA "B" qualifying time of 9:52.49 in the 3,000-meter run during the UW Invite on Jan. 30 at the University of Washington. She missed the "A" qualifying time by just 0.49. Carstens earned All-America honors at the 2025 NAIA Indoor Championships when she took third place.

The Evergreen men's and women's track and field teams will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 6 at the Corban Indoor/Outdoor #2. The meet will be held at the Outdoor Athletic Complex on the Corban University campus in Salem, Oregon.
