OLYMPIA, Wash. -- The Evergreen State College women's volleyball team has returned to campus and is preparing for the 2026 season. Players arrived at Evergreen on Aug. 1 and will see their first action in the scrimmage against Edmonds College at the Costantino Recreation Center on Tuesday, Aug. 18. The scrimmage will begin at 5 p.m. PDT.

Top returning players for the Geoducks include Zofia Formella (Jr., MB/OH), Sophia Scroggins (Sr., OH), Jayden Vaimaona (Sr., S), and Mikayla Kelly (Grad., MB/OPP).

Formella led Evergreen with 144 kills and 1.95 kills per set in 2025. She also registered 15 service aces and 32 total blocks. Scroggins added 138 kills and 1.86 kills per set, while finishing with 11 service aces. Vaimaona topped the statistical chart with 198 assists and 3.19 assists per set as one of two primary setters. Kelly was Evergreen's defensive leader at the net with 50 total blocks.

Head Coach Carissa Bounds is in her fourth season with the Geoducks. Prior to becoming the head coach for the 2023 season, Bounds was an assistant volleyball coach at Evergreen for two-and-a-half years. She graduated from the University of North Texas in 2017 and received a master's degree from Eastern Washington University in 2022.
