Growing up on the shores of Lake Ontario in upstate New York, Paul Przybylowicz developed a keen interest in recreation and outdoor activities, and that passion for the outdoors has benefited countless Evergreen students, faculty and staff since he came to the school 22 years ago.
As a faculty member at Evergreen, he has helped design and build the school's indoor climbing gym, led countless rafting trips and climbs, and worked to improve the relationship between the recreation center and academics. Additionally, he has occasionally taught outdoor leadership programs.
Przybylowicz describes himself as "a typical Pacific Northwest nature boy, privileged to enjoy a wide range of activities – rafting rafting, telemark skiing, climbing, mountaineering, backpacking, surfing, camping, etc. – and I enjoy sharing these experiences and the needed skills with others." He has climbed throughout the Western United States, including Yosemite's El Capitan, and in Nepal where he summited Ama Dablam (22,424 feet).
